Book

Establishing Research in Jordan’s Private Healthcare Sector

Forthcoming Book — In Development

How can a private diagnostic laboratory develop a sustainable scientific research program while maintaining its core clinical responsibilities?

This forthcoming book explores that question through a practical case study of establishing and developing research activities at Biolab Diagnostic Laboratories in Jordan.

Drawing on professional experience, it examines the challenges and opportunities of building a research program within a resource-constrained private healthcare environment. Topics include identifying research opportunities, utilizing real-world laboratory data, developing research teams, securing funding, establishing national and international collaborations, strengthening research governance, and translating diagnostic information into scientific publications.

The book is intended for laboratory professionals, researchers, healthcare administrators, academic institutions, and decision-makers interested in strengthening research capacity outside traditional university settings.

Rather than presenting a universal formula, it aims to offer practical lessons, including experiences that succeeded, initiatives that encountered obstacles, and approaches that may be adapted to other healthcare environments.

Publication status: Manuscript in development. Further information, including publication details and a sample chapter, will be made available here as the project progresses.
